ERNST HAROLD DRIEDGER December 20, 1939 - June 1, 2000 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father, Ernst Harold Driedger, on June 1, 2000 at the Pinawa Hospital, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth (nee Braun) and Jacob Driedger. Ernie, beloved husband, lover, best friend and hero of Jo-Ann (nee Macauley), is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughter Leigh and friend Carley; son Brent and fiancee Wendy; sister Edith (Frank) Derksen; brother Paul (Lyn) Driedger; Mom and Dad Macauley and many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg, Ernie was raised in the Marquette area. From 1959 until he retired in 1994, he worked for MTS. Upon retiring, Dad and Mom commenced wintering in Texas and spent their summers at the cottage in Lee River where Dad enjoyed and shared his passion for sailing. In Texas, he was known as "Tim the Tool Man" and will be missed by all of the La Floresta gang. Dad was known for his sense of humour, easygoing nature and his ability to fix absolutely anything. He was an avid golfer, curler and fan of beer, seeds and television. There was nothing he wouldnt do for Mom, the family or his friends. Throughout his battle, Dad never complained. He smiled and joked with every opportunity right up to the end. Dad lived his life to the fullest. A Celebration of Ernies Life will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassens Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy.
